Exergen Temporal Scanner Review and Giveaway Ends 3/25

This seriously could not have come at a better time.  Baby B recently had the flu and with her only being 25 weeks old the doctors were very concerned for her and at one point wanted to admit her to the hospital however they allowed her to come home with us due to the fact that she was still eating.  We were given strict instructions on what we needed to do to get her better and one of those was taking her temperature every hour on the hour to make sure she didn't reach a certain point.

Before taking Baby B to the doctor's office, we had taken her temperature by ear.  Baby B hates that thing and does not want anything in her ear. She would scream and life was just unpleasant.  So after leaving the doctors office, we came home and there was a package on the porch.  Seriously, how awesome was it that the day that we had taken her to the doctors, when we came home we received this Exergen Temporal Scanner.
Do you want to know how easy this is to use?  All you do is place it on your child's forehead, hit the button and it scans the temperature. Thats it the Exergen Temporal Scanner reads the temperature within 2 seconds.  WOAH!  Now, do you have a squirmy baby, toddler?  This is perfect for them.

Not only does this work perfect for us and was it awesome to have for Baby B because she was so sick and tired of being poked and everything else, that we could do this in 2 seconds and be done with it.  We took Baby B to the doctor every day for 4 days (yes every day including Saturday and Sunday, she was an infant so they had to keep a check on her) and showed her the Exergen and guess what?  She had one in her pocket.  That's right, she had one.  How awesome is that.  The nurse was still using the ear thermometer and the doctor said all of the doctors are testing it.  She loves it.

The best part to this is that it does not require disposable covers or parts.  So, the only maintenance would be to sanitize before the next child. Exergen temporal scanner is the only thermometer manufactured in the United States, that is awesome right and it does not contain any mercury.

To make sure you have the best experience with the Exergen temporal scanner, please make sure you take off the transparent cap because your scanner must make skin contact.  I will tell you that I did forget one time to take it off and it does alter the readings, so please make sure you remove it before taking temperature.

BUY IT:
You can buy these at Toys R' Us, Walmart, Babies R Us, Costco, Walgreens, Sams Club, Baby Center, Drugstore.com. The Prices range from $30 to $50. And right now...You can print a $5.00 Rebate Here.

I follow you. I would love this because it's so non-invasive you can take a baby's temperature when they're sleeping.

I am a follower of yours. I have tried many different ones too and they just don't seem to work right. I mean they got to be warmer (the kids) after you try to calm them down because mine kids don't like the ear thing either.

We could have used this this past weekend when both me and hubby had a fever! All I have is a a 30+ year old forehead thing that is like a mood ring (the colours change according to how hot you are). It's not exactly the most accurate!

Though my son actually likes having his temperature taken by ear, i always have to check both ears b/c we have gotten different readings from 2 different ears. Makes me wonder about the accuracy. Plus, taking an ear temperature in a very small baby is impossible, really. We have another LO on the way and I would love to have this!

I follow your blog & this would work for us because I have a VERY SQUIRMY 16 month old, and we've been taking his temp the old fashioned way (rectally). Do you know how HARD it is when you've got a kid kicking and squirming and rotating his body to take his temp rectally in deadly fear that you'll hurt him?! I would love a Temporal scanner. When my boys are sick and feverish, I hate having to take their clothes off so I can take their temperature under their arm. It also seems like such a shame to wake them up just so I can see what their temperature. A Temporal Scanner would make it so much easier even when things are crazy and the kids are sick.
