Please forgive my absence from the blog I love. I must apologize because "Life on the Work Front" this past week has been rather rough! I'm so exhausted at night that I can't even keep my eyes open to write a post. I know pretty sad, but this is pretty true.
Over the past month our work has been sending out Voluntary Severance Packages to employees who were eligible to retire. They could either take the package or not. There was 1400 employees that took the package. So, with a huge company like where I work, this was a huge amount of employees which meant somehow or another things were really going to change.
The 1400 employees that took it, most of them were eligible to leave as of 3/31 (yesterday)! Well, since that occurred workload had to be adjusted. So, Monday we all knew when we came in they were going to be pulling us and telling us if you were leaving the company (involuntary) or where you were going to be going and what you would be doing.
Monday, we all came in not knowning what was going to happen and what to expect. Needless to say a lot of of us were on pin and needles and others just wanting to know where we were going!
About 140 PM EST my director and boss come over to get me and first thing I heard was, "You have a job, so you don't have to worry about that!" Well, thank goodness! Anyway, it was all good for me and all those that work in my direct area. But we started hearing in other areas people were being let go and blah blah blah. Overall, it was rather exhausting and just overwhelming.
As for myself, I did found out that I would be moving buildings (only a walk up the hill) and would have a new supervisor to report to!
Today marks a new day, to meet my new supervisor and new adventure.
Anyway, so I apologize for the quietness but honestly much of this has been very overwhelming and a lot of work and at night, I'm overall exhausted!
Oh and this is not an April Fools! However, Happy April Fools Day!

I hope things work out very, very well for you with this shift at work.
Do you happen to work for Dominion? My dad works there, and he's been super busy with the rearrangements from their severance package. :)
That's a lot of changes to throw at someone, with a lot more to come I'm sure. Hang in there!
