'Dear John'

Did anyone see this?

Yesterday I got the chance to watch this at my mom's house.  The kids were playing and Baby B was just as quiet as can be.  My mom has seen this movie a handful of times and I had never seen it.

I really liked the movie and cried at quite a few points in the movie.  However I was seriously ticked off at the end of the movie.  When it was over, I said, "Are you serious?"  You are kidding right?

I have heard that the movie took a lot of good parts out of the book, what a bummer.  I haven't read the book, but.  Still.

What were your thoughts of this movie?

If you do read the book, think of them as two separate entities because they are VERY different, especially the ending. I was so angry because I read the book first and really liked it. I couldn't enjoy the movie because I was critiquing it the whole time, haha.

I havent seen it yet, but really want to. I read the book so was excited to hear they made it into a movie. I actually tried to rent it this week from redbox (b/c hubby was out of town and I know it will hard to get him to watch it - lol!) - but redbox was out of it - oh well - maybe his next trip :)

It seemed a little too convenience that her husband died... I also thought it was really odd that she would marry such an older man, especially when she didn't even love him. Why couldn't she just be the nanny? LOL

I know they made two endings in the movie...The ending from the book was terrible. She doesn't marry John and her and Tim live happily ever after.

I love the ending where John and her end up together. After I read the book I was seriously pissed off!

I would suggest the book, it was a great read!
