Catchick 6 Creations Custom Woolie Review and Giveaway Ends 12/27

So, I am a mommy who never really ventured out into the world of wool.  I tried them way back when I first started cloth diapering and I liked them and then I royally messed up some wool I had by putting it in the dryer and it looked like something that I would put on my doll baby.  Yes, I did do that.  It was horrible and I broke down.

So it really took me a while to get back into wool and I think the wool dryer balls have drawn me back in, but I am paying much more attention to things now.  Baby isn't an infant anymore, so I can concentrate on what I am really doing.  Haha.

Plus I always had that image that all wool made you really itchy but I learned not all wool makes you itchy.  It really just depends on the top of wool that you chose and use.  However Elizabeth was very helpful and walked me along the way with everything and told me what is considered itchy and what isn't.

I recently worked with Elizabeth from Catchick6 Creations and she is a great mommy!  Here is some info:
My name is Elizabeth. I have three children, who are my constant inspiration, Tuesday, age 13, Quinn, age 10 and River, age 4 years. I have lived in New Jersey for most of my life. I used to be an elementary teacher, but now I am a stay at home mom. I have been painting and sewing all of my life. I have a visual arts degree from Rutgers University. I love to paint, sew and design childrens' clothing. I love to design my own appliques and make clothing that is unique and fun to wear. I hope you enjoy what you see and come back often! I take pride in my work and it is important to me to please my clients. Please come back often to see what my new designs are! thanks!
When I first started working with Elizabeth, she asked me what I was interested in.  For some time I have had my eye on this beauty and I wanted it.  It was her custom shorties with leggings but I really loved exactly the one that was posted.  What I didn't know about wool is that many people use sweaters and that she would have to search for it and see if she could find something that resembled it.

This shortie included one applique chosen from all of her designs placed wherever you would like it. She will custom make the shortie/leg warmers to your specifications.....down to the color, fiber, weight and design.

I sent Elizabeth my specifications.  I had to go back quite a few times because I wasn't doing it right, but after finally getting it right, I got it.  I told her that I really wanted the strips

Here is the creation that Elizabeth came up with.  Oh I couldn't want to get it in the mail.  It was gorgeous and I was so excited.

The shortie soaker comes with drawstrings, which is something that I chose because it works so much better with Baby B then having something really tight.  Her skin is so sensitive that it leaves marks otherwise.

She also made gorgeous leggings which have adjustable tops.  I like the adjustable tops but with Baby B's legs I just can't get them right without them leaving a marking on her leg.  So I just place them on the lightest so it doesn't leave any markings!

Here is Baby B in action with her shorties and leggings.
I have to tell you that she looks absolutely adorable in
these.  Wool great for those babies who are super wetters because these do not leak.  I have never ever had a leakage problem with wool and honestly I don't think I have ever heard of anyone else having leaking problems with wool.

When we first tried them we tried them without the leggings, we already had leggings on, so I just left it that way.  I was in love.  I think she was in love.  Daddy wasn't so sure.  But I don't think he cares like I do.  LOL.  The next night we tried them with the wool leggings and it was just gorgeous. Baby B could walk around and crawl around everything stayed in place and they also did the main thing I wanted them to do and that was to hold the wetness in.
I did go a little bit bigger, hence the reason I wanted the drawstring, because I wanted Baby B to be able to wear these for quite sometime.  I didn't want to get them right her size and then she not be able to wear them for very long.  Baby B is 13 months and she is already in almost 24 months, so she is growing so fast.  I am really happy with getting them a bit bigger which even Elizabeth suggested that we do.

So, have you tried wool?  Well don't be scared.  Seriously I can see why you would be scared, but really no reason to be.  These are amazing, so, and quess what they keep your baby warm but do not overheat them.  They are what I call Gorgeous Wool!

Elizabeth was a real pleasure to deal with.  She was very understanding and helped make me understand what I needed to do and even how everything worked.  I know she had to explain to me a couple times about some of the things and she was so easy going about it and I just want to Thank you for being such a great momma and being so understanding.

All I Want for Christmas Event: Velvet Rabbit Cloth Diapers Review and Giveaway Ends 12/7

I love my cloth diapers to have a little flare, you know...something that if someone sees the diaper, it tells a little bit about my daughter and/or our style on them, but not exactly their name where if I wanted to sell this diaper I couldn't unless someone's child had the same name.  I say all this to say because recently I was contacted by Emily, the WAH behind Velvet Rabbit Cloth, Emily is a great woman and was a real sweet person.  What I thought about her it was great to hear from someone who wanted to work with me and was wanting to tell me as much information as she could to help me a long the way.  She has lots of information on cloth and I love that she was so easy to work with! Here is a little about her:

Hello from Oregon!
I've been sewing for most of my life and have this Etsy shop to share some of my art with the rest of the world. I loved cloth diapering my own babies and want to share the love of cloth with other families. I strive to make unique diapers that are highly functional, durable, and soft using the highest quality materials. I am also an avid gamer geek and a lot of my designs strongly reflect this.

Emily uses the pattern with permission from the JeM'appelle Ultimate Nappy pattern to make her cloth diapers! She sent us her One Size fits most in the most adorable color and with a beautiful saying on the back.  Baby B is my "Angel" and always had been, we had a lot of problems during pregnancy with her and all I wanted to do was to have her safely and she be ok. While at the end we ended up in the hospital for about 2 weeks, for the safety of myself and her, she is my "Angel" and is my sweetheart. Baby B was born 6 weeks early and honestly if the doctors were not my savior Baby B would have been born 9 weeks early!  So, they held me on as long as they could until Baby B could no longer handle it and was then breech!  So, Angel just matched her and fit her.

The JeM'appelle pattern One Size is a very trim diaper fitting from 5 to 40 pounds.  The diaper she sent me was a gorgeous pink with the word "Angel" on the back and a gorgeous soft purple on the inside. I often wondered if embroidered diaper would have leaking problems, but they don't! They don't leak because she reinforces the back. Basically there is a 2nd piece of PUL under the hoop and she sews it back over on itself to make a little PUL shell that completely covers the back of the embroidery so they don't leak. Check it out here to see a picture of it.

Baby B had a great fit in this diaper and as cute as the "Angel" diaper is, she looks adorable in this diaper.   We did have one leak, however it was not a diaper issue, it was I didn't put the snaps on correctly to give her the right fit.  As soon as I fixed the snaps it fit her great with no leaks.  This diaper has side snaps which prior used to take me a while to get snapped up on my daughter, but not anymore, Mommy has become a pro to hurry and get her diaper on because she is a walking Baby B.

Velvet Rabbit Cloth doesn't just make diapers however, she also makes cloth pads for us mama's who like to use cloth. She has a dedicated webpage to cloth pads

Emily is really trying to get her Etsy Shop going so make sure you tell your friends about this great cloth diaper and mama pad shop!

All I Want for Christmas Event: FUNKtastic Bouncing Woolies Review and Giveaway Ends 12/7

Recently I won a blog giveaway and I won a set of FUNKtastic Bouncing Woolies and it is not often that I win blog or facebook giveaways so it was rather exciting to have won!  I had the choice of any scent however I didn't pick a scent since I had some at home.

I am a wool ball lover all the way.  I have to be open and honest here, not that I am not already...but when I first heard about Wool Dryer Balls, I said you have got to be kidding they don't cut our drying time in half and I bet that these don't work!

Well if you ever hear someone say that wool dryer balls don't cut your drying time in half, then you tell them that they are crazy! A couple of weekends ago, we got very behind on washing and drying clothes and normally the washing machine is done before the dryer is!  Well, not this time.  I spent one Saturday washing and drying clothes and my dryer was done before the washing machine.

Bouncing Woolies recommends you starting with 4 woolies and adding more later.  The more you add, the less drying time per load. Which I can definitly vouch for this because it is so true. These wool dryer balls are very well made and I have never seen them unravel.  They don't fray either.  Bouncing Woolies has other products too, such as their re-scent packs to re-scent your wool dryer balls, speciality wool dryer balls, and she even does custom design logos!
If you have a chance to check out these awesome Wool Dryer Balls, I suggest you should, I love Shauna, the owner.  We have actually worked together several times in the past.

Here is a little bit about Shauna and I love this story:
I never considered myself "green" or "crunchy" until about seven months ago. I did all of the usual things before that. I used disposable everything, chemicals, convenience. I just grew up that way and didn't really know much else. I have to give credit to a dear friend, *C* and a co-worker, *J*. They showed me everything about cloth diapers. They were patient and helpful! Granted, beforehand, I never thought I'd be the CD kind of gal. I mean..... ewww! Low budget and loss of income forced me to change my way of thinking. I mean, I could try it, right?! Generously, *J* let me borrow her entire stash of size small cloth diapers to try out on my two month old son. After the first day, I was HOOKED. Wow, how easy! How awesome! I ended up purchasing some prefolds, covers and a stash of pocket diapers off of Craigslist that next week and returned the borrowed diapers to her. After venturing into the cloth world, and various social media networks (facebook, twitter), I started to learn more things about the crunchy lifestyle and began practicing more natural parenting ideas with my three year old daughter and infant son. Let's just say, it's brought about a whole new me and an entire different and better way of thinking! I am definitely passionate and almost a green missionary of sorts.

Now, where does Bouncing Woolies come into play? Since the downfall of the economy, our income dropped and we were just never able to get back on top. I stay at home during the day with my kiddos and I work evenings and Saturdays teaching college courses. My hubby works days at a civilian job and also serves in the National Guard. You'd think we'd make scads of money, right? Wrong. We struggle just like everyone else. So, I got to thinking... I'm crafty and graphics savvy. I can create a small buisiness that's green and saves money! I was already making woolies to use at our house, why not make them for consumer purchase so others can save money too! I can help save the environment and people's pocketbook one woolie at a time. Once the idea came to mind, it all just fell into place and here we are.

BUY IT:
http://bouncingwoolies.com/item_26/FUNKtastic-Woolies.htm
http://bouncingwoolies.com/index.htm
Woolies may vary in size per order because our products are handmade, not mass produced.  We guarantee that our woolies are much larger and heavier than the other big brands on the market.  Specific materials may vary per availability.  Scents may seem less strong at first because our scents are deeply injected into the core.  The deep scent will work it's way to the top layer while in use.
WIN IT:
Bouncing Woolies would like to give a set of FUNKtastics Wool Dryer Balls to one of my readers/follwers in a surprise scent (you will LOVE IT!).

All I Want for Christmas Event: Crystal Rhine Designs Cloth Diapers Review & Giveaway Ends 12/6

I'm really excited about this next review and giveaway just because I love the woman behind it.  Recently I worked with Crystal from Crystal Rhine Designs whom at the time we started talking was a SAHM to 3 and one that was on the way very shortly!  So shortly it was only a few days.  Crystal came home after having her baby and only about 2 weeks and nothing more she began working on a diaper & soaker to send to me to review.  What an amazing mommy and very dedicated to her job and her children, which I just think is an amazing atribute to a WAH business.  Seriously!

Here is a tid bit of information about Crystal:
I'm a mother to 4 beautiful girls. I've been sewing since I could pick up a needle, as a little girl, myself. I love to sew and create new things. Right now, my addiction is making cloth diapers.

Crystal sent me her Crystal Rhine Designs Large AI2 and matching fleece soaker and I have to tell you I am in love with the print.  Even the hubby is he said it reminds him of the "That 70's Show".  Funny, right?  But DD1 and DD2 and even liked it and loved the little car.

As you can see it comes with a snap in insert which I love because when putting on Baby B when they are snap in, I have such a hard time because they move all over the place. On the back of the snap in insert it has the cute car design which again is just adorable. The snaps are great they are not loose or as within some diapers I have received some of the snaps don't work. And I love the different colors of the snaps!  Hey I have girls and I love colors.

I was a little worried when I looked at it thinking when I put it on her that it was going to be a little bit bulky, but it is not.  Baby B is walking and she could walk around just fine in the diaper and fleece cover.  I will say I have never tried to put clothes over the diaper because I love my soakers for night time so I always match them up with some cute leggings and she is set for the night!

And mommy's I have to tell you I love fleece soakers, I really do.  There is just something about them.

As you can see the design is just as adorable to view as it is on her bum.

I did try the fitted diaper without the soaker for nap and we didn't have any problems, however I note that I love this snap in insert because it seems thicker than others!

These diapers are very well made and come from a mommy who just loves making cloth diapers.  It really hits home when mommies who make their diapers have perfected them from their own children.  I just think it is amazing!
We have had a few poos and yea we didn't have any leaks.  I love a diaper with no leaks, what mommy doesn't.  And the first poo we had was without the soaker when I was trying without it and still no leaks.  But huge note here, I haven't tried the diaper without the soaker overnight, however in the morning when I change her, the diaper is not wet like many other A12 fitted diapers that I have!

BUY IT:

Crystal Rhine Designs Cloth Diapers would like to give away a A12 and matching fleece soaker to one of my readers/followers.

All I Want for Christmas Event: Comfy Rumps Cloth Diapers Review and Giveaway Ends 12/5

ComfyRumps.com Diaper Services was born on a rainy November day in Vancouver, BC by Christie and Trey. After paying over two hundred dollars for 11 name brand diapers, and noticing 11 diapers was enough for a day and a half (max!), we decided washing them every day was not another chore we wanted to add to the list. Soon after, we launched our company with a great single product! Today we are continually working to provide affordable and environmentally friendly diapering alternatives to families across Canada and the USA.

Our goal is not to make a killing on selling diapers and diaper services. Our goal is to ensure that after our time, our children, grand children, and future generations can proudly say “Our parents/grandparents did their job to ensure we can breathe clean air, and drink clean water”. Our modern world war is the war on climate change and pollution. We are all responsible for making sure that our future generations do not suffer from the way we choose to live today. Nearly everything comes in disposable versions these days offering convenience in many aspects of our lives, but at what cost? We are proud to say we are trying to do our part, to promote a healthy planet for future generations and we strive to offer encouragement and education to everyone we can in order to help them do the same.

Comfy Rumps is a company that wants to stand out and be proud of what they do and I honestly believe that they do a wonderful job of showing that.  They also don't want to charge an arm and a leg for a cloth diaper because they just want to see everyone using them, so their diapers are very costly!

We received our Comfy Rumps and immediately fell in love. There was something diffent about this diaper that not many others had. It was the second row of snaps, which many companies have, but normally they go all the way across, however not this company!  And and I really like that because it was a great fit on Baby B.
We use the last snap on the bottom and the top can go much further than that on the top and we really like that it has this amazing fit.

Baby B is a big girl and these are one size diapers.  Most one size diapers we have the snaps pulled all the way out, however not with the Comfy Rumps
Now since reviewing this diaper, they have had something new come out and I am really upset.  At this house we have a thing for minky.  And Comfy Rumps has now come out with Minky Cloth Diapers. I am determined to find a minky blanket that we like but that hasn't happened yet.  I WISH. But we love minky around these parts and I am so bummed that I missed out on that one, but they look so soft and lovely!
This diaper was also different in the fact that it had a tag sewn in it with directions on how to wash the diaper.  I notice this because I don't think I have any other diapers, maybe one or two that have this tag sewn in there you normally receive a print out with your diaper, which is fine also.  But I think some tend to forget after a while.

Comfy Rumps also has many accessories to get your inserts, wetbags and other needs.

BUY IT:

Comfy Rumps would like to give two of my readers/followers a Comfy Rump Cloth Diaper of their choice.
